new shoes

today is a new day. we are free from the past everyday because today is a new day.

its just like getting new shoes. shoes you have never walked in. your paths are fully fresh to those shoes. today is a new day, every path is a new path.

we are not bound to the days we have had already.

we live
we rest
we wake and go again

BUT

the good news is that today is not the same as yesterday.

this isnt about mourning mistakes or avoiding the past. this is about recognizing the freedom we have to be. to BE who we are. everyday is a new day to redefine ourselves. we are no longer tied to labels and reputations. we are no longer tied to the pain and the past. the joy from yesterday belongs to yesterday. today is a new day for a refreshed unstale happiness.

run into it. enjoy your day. enjoy your friends. if you are bored... i want to tell you there is more for you, more than mundane routine of the monday coming tomorrow. today is new.

love what you do. love the people around you. love transforms your life.

Your post mitigates the pain I felt when writing my "neurosis" post on my blog. Thank you for reminding me to live for today and for what I have today, which is quite abundant and happy.

Your post has reminded me of two distinct quotes.

In the film Broken Flowers, Bill Murray's character, Don Johnston not Don Johnson, said, "The past is gone. The future is whatever it will be. So all we have is the present."

Yet, your post reminded me of what Allen Iverson said through a Reebok advertising campaign. "I am who I am."
These two quotes bound me on both sides. The past and the future are out of reach, but I am who I am and do the things I do.

I have, however, recently plunged into a new relationship with a quite loving, young woman. Who know s what will happen next?

A lovely post once again. I will continue to live in the present and realize the potential of everything new. Sounds beautiful.

i like the analogy, that it's like a new pair of shoes. i never thought of a new pair of shoes like that. a fresh path to walk.

Its always important to remember all the good things we have and not dwell on what we don’t. I love it when your just driving down the road sometimes stressed out, when it all just leaves you and you feel that everything in the world is just perfect and your going to be just fine, maybe Im weird but this actually happens to me.
